Overall great. Honestly second best way to play it thanks to the touchscreen imo. Framerate issues aren't bad. Small dips during graphically intensive moments (namely bosses, hordes, and the above with particle-heavy weapons) but nothing that makes it unbearable.

Depends on your settings. If you have, say, wave detail high and whatnot, you'll feel it more than you would low/off naturally.

Like in my current (and first 1.4) summoner playthrough I'm still pre king slime with full plat armor, snapthorn, vamp frog, max hp, Bundle of Balloons, and Terraspark boots. Early pre HM feels so great.
Also out of curiousity, for a true summoner playthrough, what do you guys use for first time WoF before Firecracker drops? I'm thinking snapthorn is going to be a bit weak.

If you really wish to use it, use it in tandem with your preferred reference of choice

Yoyos are better on console than pc because of the lock on mechanic. This makes them more viable than most melee weapons at some points in the game

If you have not done the destroyer yet I would recomend adamantite / titanium armor with the ranger helm, as well as a daedalus stormbow with holy arrows. Besides that use an ammo box, archery potions, magic quiver, and also a ranger emblem.
As for the melee part a good option is the amarok (a yoyo) combined with the yoyo bag
then you could also grind for ankh shield pre mechs because it is possible

Probably the bladetougne for the ichor effect to lower defense, or an ice sickle for the projectiles
In general though swords are not that efficient against them

a bow and jester arrows, line up using a platform or blocks on the surface and fire when it charges you while horizontal on the blocks/platforms
dont get greedy
best bow you can probably get is the demon bow, you can easily get it using demonite from EoC

Battle Potions can be crafted and Water Candles can be found in the dungeon. They give off a blue light and have a debuff in your buff area when you are near one.
