so what you want to do is :

1). Drop 1 item ( any item e.g wood or sand ) - this item is basically the sacrificial item and don't pick it up till the dupe is done
2). Drag any item you want to dupe and put it onto another inventory slot
3). Drop the duped items and also drop the original items
4). Pick up all the items

Be careful as if you drag an item onto another the entire items get deleted including the original
