So it turns out they added a new binding you can set to toggle the chat overlay. My binding was just to immediately open up the keyboard because that’s all that was needed in the previous version.

But since the chat overlay wasn’t being opened, it just didn’t do anything.

But seriously, focus to eye first as it often is closed for the longest but try to get all 3 out at a Similar time. The best way to avoid the laser is to be below when the eye opens and fly up. I've beaten moon lord without fishron mount so I know how to fight him.
