You can mine false bricks though.

Just strike the walls and floor with your pickaxe and any false bricks will crumble away and reveal a new path (or a trap).

i found a glitch where, if you have the stepping stool active and a block above you, jumping will cause your charicter to just, slide up and down with no animation
