If you didn't get the book of skulls from skeletron, grind for the clothier voodoo doll in the dungeon. If you equip it, you can kill the clothier NPC at night and it will summon skeletron for another chance to get book of skulls

if you create a world with the getfixedboi seed, some items are swapped. You can find a bubble gun (normally Duke fishron drop) in the dungeon of this seed but its heavily nerfed.
However if you bring it back to your master mode world, it will have the normal stats as if it was from Duke.
So in short, you can get a hm mage weapon while staying pre-hm

OK the good info is that the reduced mana usage for the space gun (from full set), also affects the zapinators. If you can get the grey zapinator from the travelling merchant, reforge it to mythical, and have that armour, it will also cost 0 mana
