I would recommend an osogof tunnel, a giant tunnel made with explosives at the bottom of the arena for dipping down during the second phase. If you aren’t doing true melee and have a melee weapon with a projectile the osogof tunnel will be very useful.

When you enter Hardmode, a big V of Corruption and Hallow is immediately created from the center of the world up.
