Depends on the difficulty and world seed.

There is no good seed for Ranged. Just remember to keep crafting your evil biome's wood bow to get your desired affix, rush the evil biome when you're confident to get a gun, and have the Arms Dealer + Nurse in your Desert to lower the price of the Minishark (for early game).
