Master Mode, only non-Journey starter gear (sans Resplendent Dessert), no duplication (research is allowed though, so I can round out my duplication menu).
At least I was able to buy a Slime Staff right away, thanks to the Tax Collector and the Princess. I can’t get money from the Lava Slimes because of my dinky little Copper Broadsword being too weak.

It takes forever, but once you do 100% the Bestiary, you can buy as many as you want from the Zoologist.

If your world was generated pre-Journey’s End, fairies cannot spawn naturally.
Now you have to either catch fairies off-world and release them in your world, or shake Hallow trees and hope you see ‘em.

Fairies will only spawn naturally if there’s at least one Fallen Log somewhere in your world.
Destroy them all = no more fairies.

Sometimes a group of them spawn over a Fallen Log, if you’re lucky.
If you see them over a Fallen Log, you can catch them and then release them and they’ll show you the treasure.

For critters, you just have to be near them.
Gold critters are special though.
It may seem like it’ll take forever to fill in all of the gold critter entries, but once you encounter any of the gold critters, all of them get filled in automatically.

Yeah, you also need all corruption, crimson, and hallow enemies that spawn in desert, snow, and beach.
You also need seasonal Halloween and Christmas enemies and critters + Santa Claus.

If it’s not Christmas or Halloween yet and you need the entries, there are two ways to bring the holiday season to your world.
The easy way is to just adjust your internal clock.

You also do not need a complete bestiary entry for all enemies. Even an incomplete entry for a particular creature will suffice for bestiary completion.

The bestiary gets more info on creatures the more you encounter ‘em. At first, you only get the description of the creature, but encountering them enough will fill in their entry with stats, their loot, and drop rates for said loot.

Bosses and certain other entries are special. Encounter them once and you automatically get all of the juicy info on them.

At least once you have a world with 100% bestiary completion, you’ll never need to do it again for Universal Pylons unless you delete the world or want Universal Pylons for Journey/non-Journey.

It’s really easy to murk (and be murked by in Expert and Master) the Phantasm Dragon, so most people miss out on the Ancient Vision.
