He tried going through the gate’s bars and gave up deciding to check his other options first before potentially getting stuck, he looked to the thing i moved, looked to where the gate was in relation to it and how high the gate was, he checked if he could pull the gate open, and he repeated that a few times before squeezing through
He tried opening the gate by pulling on the side where the hinge is, he tried to pull the part of the gate thats around the gate itself out like it was meant to open that way.

Basically a kitten was trying to brute force the best method to get past a gate thats meant to stop kids from getting through but also mostly works for animals, just to get to the food i was eating
He doesn’t understand how the gate works just that I’m able to open it by seemingly just pulling, so he tried whatever he could to try and open the gate
That last part about him trying to pull the gate open by pulling the outer part, imagine there’s a screen door you can get your arm through, he was trying to open said door by pulling on the frame of the door instead of the door itself

Ok, hold up, my boy Witch Doctor is WAY BETTER than just DECENT
Flasks of Ichor are extremely good, he sells some of the most important summoner accessories, has Leaf Wings, and has Tiki Armor. He literally is always useful, unless you're playing mage or ranger, which definitely puts him above mechanic, who literally has 0 purpose to actually beating the game with any class.
Hot take: you don't need AFK farms to beat the game, nor do you need a Rod of Discord.
hell, you don't even need to craft the Grand Design anymore, the ruler feature is built in to the hotbar now, and the multicolored wrench and actuator rod just do it's job in less button clicks
Mechanic DEFINITELY goes into the Irrelevant tier
the most useful item the mechanic has to progression is the weapon she drops when she dies.
the Imbuing Station is useful at literally every stage of the game and can be obtained after beating one (1) boss in prehardmode.
I could also argue for Truffle fans, but Mechanic's placement is the only one that I contest on that list. She serves 0 purpose to actually beating the game, while the truffle allows for shroomite armor. Truffle definitely goes above mechanic.
the best case I could make for the mechanic is needing wrenches and wires to set off large amounts of fireworks to kill bosses really fast.
but that also requires the Party Girl

the only time I've ever seen someone craft the grand design is in youtube videos that go into detail about weird contraptions that the set up, which still aren't necessary to beating the game. I've crafted it maybe twice ever, and that was in multiplayer playthroughs where my friends were busy doing other things. I'm not saying the Mechanic has no purpose, I'm just saying that the purpose she serves isn't important enough for her to be relevant
for what she does, yes, she's essential, but what she does can be completely ignored and the game still plays perfectly fine without her
