That looks much better
Stone with crystals doesn't convert
So I can place some of it round the corners to make it have the natural blending pattern with the dirt
Instead of the funky white paint situation that happens otherwise
what
im confused what spot you are talking about, 0 pearlstone has been used
Yeah that's what I'm telling u lol
The part where the bridge connects to the dirt gets an awkward cut off because of the paint
Pie is taking my yavor hrnggg
Stone doesn't work because it'll get converted to pearlstone so using stone with any of the gemstones in it is a safe way to blend the bridge to the dirt
grrr
Silence loser

ah i see yeah, didnt pay too much attention to that part but you are right
@gritty anvil my biggest hope for the new furniture set pieces is more juicy lighting elements i can use
Fucking mood
like ash wood furniture lighting for example is great
so i really hope they add more that are also good for other stuff too
some of them i don't really see them giving that treatment to but a few in particular definitely have potential
like the moonplate one is a high hope for me atm
so many new pieces i want to just bite & use
i'm not a builder, but wanted to show a sneak peek of a museum that i'm doing, it just a box i know but after the whole museum is finished i want to move on to more fluid creations (also yeah the complete build is also a giant rectangle but like, forgive me on that one)
ultra WIP mountain, first time trying to make fully custom terrain on a bigger scale than 10 tiles lol
will look better when finished, trust 🙏
i’m trying to find some good walls to make a foundation connecting a stone brick floor to a marble build
Too much block variation, looks noisy, I think it'd be best if tou stuck to a pattern rather than random placement
You have unintended walls bleeding into the clock face itself as well as some air pixels
In the corners of the clock
Also for more detail may i suggest trying to use something like silly balloon blocks painted black for the numbers
Like I have a clock tower added onto this tavernhall I built
And you can see the usage of silly balloon blocks and other details to the clock face
i’ve got this so far https://imgur.com/a/2BO348v
Dont forget the Dead Cells content. Those hanging jars are going to be sweet along with whatever else is added
i'm more focused on the lighting pieces that might be added personally but yea those are nice too
Im hoping the crossover adds some neat lighting elements
cause like what we currently have kind of bores me a lot
I'm not sure, but you could try painted ash wood
alright i tried to make it better but i don’t really like the stairs
any advice?
you might want to remove the echo blocks at the end imo. i feel like the angled bit doesnt make it look like stairs as much
Replace some of that smooth marble with regular marble and make it less of a even two block like so that it doesn't cut off so sharply otherwise I think that's a solid blend
Gonna move my relics into the mountain like a secret base or sum
post ML 100% stuff
No idea why the grass walls in the cave are fully lit up though, gotta be a Fancy Lighting bug or something
that is in fact, a house
is that gonna be for the Witch Doctor and wizard? the roof looks like a witch's hat
also, what tree is that? the lemon green one?
honestly i have no clue yet, and im trying to expand my new style of roofs, have only done it with stone so far, now im going to try it with wood
sakura tree with a lil paint
this type of roof stuff
I should start dabbling in paint more, but how am I supposed to know if it's gonna look good later lol, the blending in terraria is so inconsistent
that's so cool I love it
try it out and find out is the real magic to improving
like half the new things i try look like shit but some things look amazing
I just steal roof designs from real life basic architecture, mostly peasant medieval lol
facts
i try to inovate with every build i make, even if its just a little and slowly build and define my own style
I have a style, it's called "barely enough to be considered not a box"
I've been building in terraria in my worlds (never have I ever had a speedrun/box town) for 8 years.
shit like this was like god tier for me back then
It's aight
yeah, i mean at that time didnt even build for 20hrs at that point (aside from boxes)
and then 300 building hours or so later you are shitting out trees like this
The mountain I just made and my castle (bottom left) are probably my favorite things I ever made and that certainly says something
One question, how are good builders like you sure of what materials to use? There's a lot in terraria and even after years of playthroughs I know of like 10 material combos, with 3 different tiles/walls each
or do you just shit out random blocks and paint them green
ALOT of experimentation and just looking at textures
yeah that aswel quite a few times, mostly its just paint x brick gray and see if it fits
or paint x wood brown to see if it fits
then you also need to match horizontal and vertical textures with wood for a better look
"I'm so proud of this thing I made, time to check how close I am to actually being objectivelly good on the terraria creations channel!"
- crushing realization that whatever I made sucks
On average, how many different tiles do you use in a part of a build? Like a wall, or background or something
generally like 2 is plenty, brown and gray will carry you
then some nice accent colors where needed, a little lime for vegitation
I didnt mean colors I meant tiles
Materials you can't just buy from your local paint supplier for 5c
lwk reading my own messages I sound like such a party pooper rn, sorry mate
jungle pylon
tiles are usually ALOT especially with my style. i build pretty chaotic and cluttered so there is alot of texturing and little furniture thingies everywhere
My body is a machine that turns fun chatic builds into organized symmetry and shapes
symetry usually isnt a good thing
that's what I'm saying
new pfp?
Terraria building is just pixel art, except you can't freely move around and place things and use a color wheel
Roof kinda weird looking rn but it's too early to say
Me after making a weird shaped box with cactus and wood instead of shoebox
Id argue it's really far from pixel art tbh, Minecraft is closer to pixelart
Pixel art is not 3d, that would be voxel art
Terraria doesn't have a far away view of things so you are forced to build as if it will be seen close
Whereas Minecraft a lot of building advice hinges off of looking from far away the way one would with pixelart
Pixel art does not require having a large image, making a custom 16x16 minecraft sword is already pixel art.
Majority of Minecraft texturing advice works on the principles of larger scale pixel art and blending of colours with middle shade etc
By definition, you draw with individual pixels.
That also applies to terraria what the hell are you on about
No?
Minecraft is 3D though so that's literally VOXEL art
Terraria doesn't really rely on the colour techniques of pixel art because those are meant to create illusions of gradients between colours with what is usually not the expect middle colour
art does not need gradients what the hell are you talking about
In general terraria ain't that known for gradient elements either mostly because texturing is done on a smaller scale
When you create a soft shadow you have a gradient from one shade to another...
yeah but it doesn't NEED it
I didn't say it needs it...
Why are you defining pixel art that it's pixel art due to gradients then, eh?
It is usually adapted into art because soft shadows are a thing in real life
Gradients are also applied when showing a light source for example
Wiki copy paste: Pixel art[note 1] is a form of digital art drawn with graphical software where images are built using pixels as the only building block.[2]
and tiles in Terraria are the equivalent of pixels
except theyre textured but people paint them anyway
Not really because terraria unlike Minecraft has lots of furniture that spans multiple tiles
Almost all furniture spans multiple tiles that are also not completely covered by said furniture
ofc its not TRUE pixel art but why the fuck are you mentioning minecraft here that's even less close to pixel art
Because the principles of pixel art are used in Minecraft building more
Look at any large scale build. Shading, painting, texturing etc is all done like pixel art.
Just as much as they are in terraria
Can I see an example
can't, i dont have the terrarian role
left server around a year ago and rejoined recently
wait I do
nvm why am I red then
true, ill just find an example of some other guy on reddit since I don't make large scale builds lol
not that good
https://forums.terraria.org/index.php?threads/notsocurseds-build-collection-v2.106261/ you've probably seen this before
Simply put, a collection of builds I've made over the last two years (and some really old stuff from 2014, just to show how improvement is inherent to practice)
The Cathedral of Rifts
My latest build, made for the 10th Anniversary of the game, winner of the screenshot category, roughly 40 hours...
I do make large scale builds and because of how furniture and walls work in terraria pixel art logic doesn't exactly function unless I perceive every block as four separate pixel pieces that are united into blocks but separate otherwise
This is something someone that'd want to make a cathedral or whatever that is in 2.5D in a pixel art program would do
@warm temple
extreme mention
?
pawa is manu / not so cursed
cool
Not really
Terraria lacks a proper block to pixel grid because of walls when it comes to regular builds unless you purposefully surround every wall used with blocks and/or echo to force into a grid
Terraria building literally has you building with individual tiles/pixels. You paint them the color you want them to be. I was never talking about furnishing, but structuring and texturing. It is almost literally pixel art.
It is definitely not
I've been building for years and I had done pixel art for like two years too
You're nitpicking my argument for terraria but you're completely ignoring all the reasons why minecraft is absolutely definitively NOT pixel art
You click and you place a square. That's pixel art.
I said Minecraft applies pixelart principles for it's building making building in MC closer to the process of pixel art I didn't say it is
Please try to read attentively when talking to others
You can hop in a pixel art program rn if you want and (without furnishing and stuff like that) make a mega base.
or just in photoshop at a tiny resolution who gaf
Uhuh now place a wall
bucket fill
It's one pixel and half on each side
The reason walls are big in terraria is to decrease the amount of materials you need
Meaning you have to view the grid as each block is four pixels each wall is eight
That's literally not true
Uh whats the convo here
Walls are wider when not connected but they don't count as a bigger tile when placed down 😭
and now you can have your wall by adding a pixel as 1 pixel margin
it's more fun in the Terraria!!!
Basically he thinks terraria building is like pixel art because it's 2d
It would be if it werent for limited reach even when it's maxed out
it is very ass, it should've been as wide as a standard screen
though, it does cause lag or problems when the reach is... the whole world...
I claim it isn't because furniture exists and that messes up most of the tile=one pixel ratio and that walls further prove that to perceive it as pixel art you need to create a custom grid that would make blocks four pixels and walls eight that overlap
Because you work with tiles and for a good looking base you work with basic shapes. Asymmetry, composition, layering and basic color theory.
Art.
With Tiles. Closest equivalent are pixels.
End product (IGNORING FURNISHING) can be done in a pixel art program.
sounds fun, I'd love to make a hellbridge while sitting in my base
yeah someone altered my pfp
I never fucking mentioned furnishing in my argument. You're looking at it mechanically I'm looking at it as the end product
I'm looking at it mechanically because if I look at it the other way I would just have to say get good and you'll understand
my builds aren't BAD.
yeah that is good, what to you want, a cookie?
Okay so since you know a lot explain to me how all the overlapping walls in this to create a blending effect of colours is the equivalent of pixelart because one block is one pixel and you have three different walls in the same pixel
can i have it
yeah sure you're chill here you go 🍪
thank you
@localshowershitter1199 Is that Laputa?
Pixel art isn't defined by gradients it's defined by the fact it's made with individual pixels
oh my god automodded
Yes
its the la-pputa
Please learn to read and thank you
Seeing the word gradient and saying gradient doesn't make art while ignoring the whole text makes you look positively illiterate
you've admitted we're looking at it from different perspectives
yes mechanically it's absolutely not, but in the end you're working with shapes.
Working with shapes is definitely not the definition of pixelart that you flaunted earlier
I do agree terraria is working with shapes which is why I think it isn't pixel art because of the amount of different shapes and it's overlapping grid
And all I wanted to say originally is that it's hard to improve and make what I have imagined due to the range limitations and not being able to just hold mouse but having to readjust my characters position ending in fucked up shapes
It's one of the furthest from pixel art building processes in a pixel game tbh
pixel art schmixel art sybauuuu
You can also improve a lot by not seeing it as pixel art
Cause you close down a lot of doors
A lot
terraria building isnt pixel art, youre just working within a grid
end of argument
stop being silly
it's like talking to a solid brick wall
Good luck on improving you'll need it
Twitter user
I don't have twitter :((
what is this convo even about
Same thing as having an actual reddit account
I have reddit for the terraria builds, get better facts
what is cro yapping about now
HAHA
just sybau
ur on the terraria discord server
everyone here got reddit
thats such a nothingburger argument
nothing statement
Smth smth terraria is pixelart if you don't agree you are a twitter user brick wall
🔥
every game is a pixel art tbh
I just wanted to mini complain about the range limitation having to move back and forth all the time to build anything while this dude looked my comparison and went "erm actually"
Ehhhhhhh
yeah gta is my favourite pixel art game
just download tmodloader and use heros mod then
you go girl, this is how it is
💖
Darkest dungeon pixel art simulator
Ohhh, well, you would hate minecraft
When
dont we all
because i hate the game
i dislike minecraft
I literally play modded but I refrain from using anything that changes mechanics like that. It's either functionally vanilla or content modded (Thorium, Calamity, Spirit etc)
LOLLL
then stop complaining
😭 😭 😭
ur literally making more problems for yourself
i love char lot te already
Certified rage baiter
Lottie I think I love u
i love you too
🥹
stolen once more
i think she's telling you to simplify it yknow
yeah
mini rant yeah its ok to have rants
y'all keep cheating
who are you
The solution be there tho
im single tho
If you wanna improve at building there's journey
What the hell
girl you're the same account
Who is this imposter
No I've never met this person before
I see why I left last year, terraria community lowkey either the chillest people or the dumbest, no inbetween
playing A7X higher on the same time
HoshiMaid right here is chill as hell
there's a third one
He is literally a rage baiter or a bully
dont talk about me being on my best like that yknow...

Your best is laughing behind people's back and that's okay
I laugh in their faces usually
i nevee thought id see that sentence here
okay genius if you're so smart then tell me in what direction I can go with my builds to keep my style but get better
no sugar coating
probably bigger
like yk
up
hell nah
that direction
wait til i whip out the johnporkirkenuinely spongebobviously
big builds are so weird unless you got some awesome 2.5d stuff
references dawg
just shut up and build
or just build better
like highkirkenuinely
and then you wouldnt have that problem
no its jot
not
nah
see ts is fire
functional too btw
awesome 2.5D is built by people who barely had an understanding on how shadows work
individually your stuff is awesome, fav thing is the tree and the thing on the lake but as a whole this ain't that good
That's such bs
like seeing a painting of that person, looks OK in hindsight but has a lot of errors and messed up perspectives
splitting that exact same image into 4 parts it's suddenly amazing
Let's agree on pie not being that good for a second, that would make you horrendous in such case, brother, are you sure you wanna do yourself that dirty
yeah??? thats also how snapshotting builds work too??
funnily enough, when youre playing terraria your screen most likely isnt able to be zoomed out that much
exactly
Exactly
That doesn't go against what I said
im not saying it does
im just pointing out htat your point is irrelvant
so "up" isn't how one improves
well it is, cause then you get to build more and practice more and then finally maybe get good
it's details, shapes and ladeedah
Apparently
🔥
One usually improves by building though
looking to play is so dead rn
That tends to be the case with everything
Teeny question: what makes that white fog on the lake
i need to find a group
mods
thats a thing?
nah its clearly a physics bending mod
Yes
yesss
nah its a fog machine
The Fog Machine is a placed novelty mechanism that produces a fog cloud around it. It can be activated and deactivated via wire, but is always on by default when first placed. The fog is purely visual, has no functional effect, and can be produced infinitely at no cost. When Fog Machines are placed next...
best way to build imo
The best way to make a good build is knowing what fucking works in the first place
shut the fuck up
im sorry that was mean
i did have most of my builds tagged with WEDIT on my forums...
No im smiling ear to ear
It's hard to know what works when each mistake takes 5 minutes to fix, and that adds up
that's literally everything in life bro
Thinking helps
you can't paint good if you dont paint good
you can clean this stain if you don't know what kind of product to use
learning and thinking helps a lot
we didn't become good overnight or in short times
people can be good in shorter time but usually it takes a long time
Thinking helps a lot actually
Yeah? And I don't play terraria all day so ofc I can't know everything that works. And youtube videos never help either that shit is always just "dont make a box" "make windows", like, noooo, really???
Adding bare minimum of logic to builds rather than freestyling it is a life changer
you don't have to play all day though
all my builds are based on architectural logic not freestyle
That like extends to decorating too
grab a piece of reference or get an idea on what you want
then do it
you can't just place a sink next to a bed
then expecting it to be good
you have actually think it through
My inspo comes from my life and past experiences not scrolling through pinterest, that's boring as hell
Yes of course the only source of references is Pinterest spoken like someone who has been outside
what the fuck kinda argument is that no shit
i mean when i said reference and you instantly put yourself through pinterest
sounds like you're very narrow on how you think
example
Definitely not the cool houses in the city or pictures from a vacation or a natural scene someone sent you, deadass just Pinterest
wedit more like bumedit
yeah no shit, i can see you're not even reading and just skimming through texts
pictures??
That's just past experiences not "reference" all I have is a memory in my brain
You can use those????
doesn't have to be good, it just needs your idea
I have builds based on fictional places I wrote
Yeah and I do that outside terraria as well just like every other damn person alive
Nobody said doom scroll Pinterest then build a nice house you picked there, that was your conclusion
Example of what? Subpar reading skills
i used a lot of bumedit
im sorry
i literally have to segregate it properly
why not make trees and such with strange plants :c
i can!
actually one of the firsts stuff i did!
might be onto something
Crown stamping is deranged
One of many sources for references is pinterest.
Other quick examples include:
Movies
Shows
Books
Travel
Literally anything that you can pull up on google and look at while building
only thing ill give bumedit credit for is making floating furniture stuff easier
Yes true that is nice because otherwise it's teleporter
teleporter works
how old is that build
2025
Mahal isn't as good at clutter as me heheheeee
and whats your most recent stuff?
Me on the right side
i was literally limping back to building in terraria
You were definitely limping at the time
yeah no shit
Reasons why this is out of my skill range:
I don't know what blocks are used
I don't know paints are used
I don't know building techniques that aren't obvious ingame
i was peak at my clutter when i had BUMEDIT
i mean, take a closer look or ask and you will figure it out
He is above questions and Pinterest
we dabble with a little clutter
my 2022
I was peak at clutter without. suffer
If you call this clutter mine is a health hazard
i just had sharper tools but not durable
everytime i walk near this build my pc lags btw, too much different tiles in one spot (rx 6800 btw)
2019 bro
That space leak definitely looks like a lag simulator
That's not clutter just mid texturing
We all went thro that phase
YEAH I DID IT TOO LOSER
I know???? But whenever I ask anyone anything I never get a direct answer???
that;s like going through your parents pictures and saying their fit is mid compared to the new ones
2021
Mum and grandma slayed tho
well i've rarely seen you ask a direct question and when you did i think you got a pretty good anwser (the fog machine)
This is actually really good
yeah i know right
I joined the discord a fucking week ago
honestly my latest build was a pile of clutter
2019 tree!
I used to make those too mahal
then you cant be mad you arent a top tier builder yet
2019 birch tree is like the mudstone/stone texturing
A product of its time
Loved the time ngl
My time on the discord does not correlate to my time playing and building
oen of my first ones (its shit)
its perfect
wdym the tree is great
i made trees like these
island is more like something I'd make tho lol
and i loved every single moment in building simple trees
ehhhhhhh
real and true, last tree i made was agony, it made my braincells pop
The wood wall is awkward but it's a solid tree otherwise like yeah it ain't strange plant spam level but still
There's good in simplicity too
my quick how to tree guide for reverse tree building (starting with the leaves)
fair, the shape is nice
i fell in love instantly with industrial / sci fi themed builds
I have never done this
Honest to god
please I just want constructive criticism, I want to improve. Since yall are infact much better than I am I just want to see if there's anything that's blatantly bad and you would improve.
I don't want a goddamn "get gud" please.
its genuinely solid
honestly its a pretty good technique i might use it again soon but with strange plant stuff
turning off the texture pack would be a good start
Issue: I use those for special dyes, same with regular flowers
Why, it just smooths things out. It looks identical in style to the 1.4.5 retextures
then farm more of them ig, usually after a few days they pile up everywhere
Oh no a Reddit link le gasp, here's a tree with almost no strange plants
ruins texturing or atleast makes it alot harder than it has to be and it just doesnt look good imo
give bro some more leaves 😭
Never tried, can I just make a regular row farm but with dirt underground to farm em?
Acacias are kinda bald
Idk why
But they be on the less leafy side
Point stays it's detailed tree with like no need for dye plants
usually i just go for a mining session underground and keep an eye out on my metal detector/shellphone for detecting them, spelunker pot for better visibility aswel
okay so what my castle is missing is vegetation. what about this;https://imgur.com/a/Bskwdcl
anyone can give me construction tips?
the block choice isnt great nad it lacks texturing and decorations
sure whats up
What u need babe?
And colour cohesion
hi yes what kind of construction
underground base with good patterns and like viking style but i dont know much blocks and good pattern
Just go play valheim atp
that aswel yeah, generally hay roofs aint it imo, they arent very expandable
unfortunate, not my specialty either
Hay is awesome wdym
Hay roofs cute on a secondary yellow colour palette
But being an isolated yellow usually makes em an eyesore
its aight as an accent piece for a roof but i wouldnt do everything hay
keep in mind I made that in a hurry to get a ice pylon right after skeletron
but hay is awesome fym
We just wrote down what we meant
What would you use then, leaf??
dont gotta take it literally gng
then maybe like space style?
Calamity structures style in a vanilla playthrough would be funny
Can yall show me some large jungle tree build inspiration? Too lazy to find it myself yk
like the Draedon lab
I got space warped crystal cave and some other like vaguely star themed houses
Laputa repost incoming
leafs, stone, wood
Hmm
Two big trees that's all I got
That's for forest not the tundra
Not quite my tempo
but i want a base where i have much space for NPC chests and other things
The rest are on the tiny side
why not
What u looking for then
oh my god butters
Shh
Maybe leaf painted brown like dead leaves in the tundra
Ngl I make most of my bases kinda tiny I'm not a good source of help for that
or blue like the guy above me
also this style of roof is highly customizable for any biome or theme
or blue
I have a lot of trees they just aren't as large
eh screw it i wont rebuild my current world, I'll wait 1.4.5 and make a completely new world with my newfound knowledge
Shingles and bricks
Never failed me
can someone give me then a good style and then tips?
Mm
that way I'll be able to look at my current best builds and be happy I improved, just like how I can look at my old worlds now.
@plucky zealot e dude wants a base with lots of storage and cool style
go for simple stuff!
yeah pretty true
oh bet
I have ten chest per biome don't trust me for base building
you have chests everywhere
demoted
pie is the new co-builder
like i play calamity so its harder to get the things
Is there some browser tool to draw sum in an image or sum with terraria blocks
Odk how to explain it
unfortunately no as of now iirc
get magic storage mod
it will save you
for ocean themed stuff
I'll program it when I learn how to code
don't go for chests, use that mod instead
jungle v2
you need to take account of a lot of things so i bid you good luck!
Ooh that looks fire
okeyy ty
I be trees in a trenchcoat
this one
you need it, there's a lot of guides and tutorials online anyway
ice stuff
so you can set it up easily
Damn I missed the mangrove peak jungle tree
Thank you man
you stole my willow!!
I'm screenshoting all of this for inspiration lol
i'll take your cole
skyblock jungle storage thingy
I kept consistency
Jungl
I don't recommend this one tho it's so annoying to make
another very old jungle thingemajig
yeah kept consistently stealing
Mf they are one screen away I tore down two sakuras for consistency
I tore down my whole side for consistency 🥺
God Chinatown is hell on earth truly
GFB base (Tedited it to my building world thats why its in the sky)
ok so you hate building with me
makes sense
honestly i dont like building with most people cuz often times there is a skill gap (either they are alot better or alot worse) or styles differ too much
I am good at copying when needed
And with hoshi it's needed
Because he doesn't adapt much
I don't think we have a very big skill difference but the style difference is very real
Dryad, painter, shaman guy and who else?
That's it
dryad, witch doctor, painter
i need to get better :c
that's all you need
when i eventually join tewwawia i need a good teammate
different metal different uses @plucky zealot
Just... 3?
princess if you feel the need to add her too
I don't adapt properly because i've built alone more
Man throw her in the dungeon
and when i tried collabing i almost certainly drop out
Anyway
or truffle
you can't say that till you try
So did I but I adapt well
I think it can look really nice tbh
update
Same fr
Uhhhhh kind of. I did play in a a global esports tournament, but I kind of dropped the game for now until they sort their shit out. Still planning on playing in any future tourneys but S2 in particular has just been a balancing nightmare
Player counts dropped like crazy
Competitive gaming definitely requires skill but if any sport had to be the bum it would be the one where you sit down the whole time
If you absolutely had to pick one
in vanilla other than the cheatsheet magic storage
i finished the build for the most part
i might add a couple strange plants for some greenery
why does your dog walk sideways?
blahaj
now the question is, how do you get to the top floors
lmao, its my first infernum run. its been fun, but ever since mid game the bosses have been too easy
theres platforms there, may be hard to see. the only thing that isnt connected is the lil top window on the 2nd build
i wish i was that good
, i havent played since i beat golem and i struggled on most bosses
golem was actually a struggle sort of
i died to it once, but the fights are so long
infernum did the impossible though and actually made golem a good fight. in base calamity it was just hell
i see the platforms but is there stairs or anything to make it make sense? its not that big of a deal, i just like making ways to get up floors in my builds, makes it feel more real i feel like(?)
golem was like the one i struggled with the least
he was fun tho
erm, not exactly. i got ma wings so thats all i need
i like it, im mostly just nitpicking that little bit
ive killed every boss after the 2nd attempt, most art first EXCEPT FOR ONE
this one crushed my soul
SKELETRON
60 deaths dude
i wish, mech bosses took a while, cal clone, skeletron
wof took like maybe 4 attempts not because he was too hard but i was throwing a lot
yeah i thought prime would be hard. wasnt he supposed to summon in twins and destroyer in his fight too? infernum seemed to remove it
his death laser thing was cool tho
are you thinking of exo mechs?
yeah. maybe i've just gotten too good at the game LMAO. i've been on my terraria arc for like 4 months, did thorium, calamity, now infernum
ive heard devourer of gods is impossible in infernum, im looking forward to that one
i just know you basically need a ram dash
& pretty sure the actual "great" ram dash is unlocked post dog
but you should definitely consider picking up infernum again. it's taken over my life recently so i've been less productive with making videos and stuff but oh boy its fun
i havent even been doing anything recently, just playing balatro since i got it really
also magic the gathering
i dont have any more money
between magic the gathering and my job not sceduling me i havent gotten any money recently
Rememba
Rememba..
Lovely
That's me hehe
dweemer yes i remembered
Yeeee
I want to do a terraria play through once the update drops
God I've been so naive for several years
really now
December of 23 I'd say stuff like
It's definetely dropping in the next 3 months
Time sure went by fast
dropping what the game xd???
The update
Once the update was released
I was sure it wouldn't be long for it to be released
Funny argument yall were having over there btw
Are we taking him Mahal
What
Hell no
sit out on this one, he needs to marinate
Explain
✨Mednoles✨
we doing our own playthrough once the update comes out
Why do I need to marinate
we're leading a faction in an SMP
Idk
😔
Hoshi didn't marinate before season two and despite the many arguments we made it work
Uhuh
What does that have anything to do 😔
Naw
Woah
Im cutting now
we dont need to get in his way
Discrimination against buff people
he needs to be the olivia biscuit of cambodia
okay so long story short
we are in a terraria smp hosted by the ebsiffers cc @hallow breach
and we building nations and doing stuff to make it more fun
U do 3d
Show
Anyone got any forest towns I could use as reference when Im rebuilding all my settlements
@plucky zealot sorry to ping but do you have your stuff uploaded anywhere in like a collection or something?
He has Reddit but I cannot confirm if it has all of his builds
Most of it is on Reddit yeah
Thanks
Whats the roof made of? Dynasty shingle? Idk how dynasty stuff looks like but thats my guess
the middle left one is both dynasty shingles alternated i think
i think the wooden roof is a mix of different woods(?)
Makes sense but whats that exposed copper looking roof on the right
Ah I see
both of the roofs are painted
So in total that town consists of like 5 different materials lol, crazy stuff
i think the wooden roofs are just a mix of pearlwood and spooky wood
Yeah I recognized pearlwood
maybe seeing some hive blocks too?
just around the wood
Are those dungeon bricks for that broken bridge
mostly yeah
a few stone blocks and iridescent bricks painted
its also different colors of dungeon bricks just painted to look blue
Hm, eagle eyes
Yeah I know what Im making now, itll basically be that but still lived in instead of abandoned
The cyan ones are shingles yeah
Wooden roofs are pearlwood and spooky wood orange painted
Blue dungeon bricks with sky blue painted iridescent brick and mudstone
A lot more than five materials but majorly it is mostly the paler bunch of the woods
I don't like mega builds
how bout mega detailed builds
my mainworld (ik that this are mid buildings .-.) and the progress map with my mega farm x3
Too much for my attention span probably lol, usually I loose motivation pretty fast for big builds
is this modded?
I don't think so
What are those wooden spikes? Ive never seen those outside this discord channel lol
On the mud/brown shingle roof
Bamboo fence mayhaps?
I keep forgetting bamboo isnt just a background prop, I should use it more
I don't do modded, pure vanilla
holy thats so pretty
Thank uuu

step 1 of a full rework of my towns, I feel like this is missing something crucial and obvious but i lowk can't tell what
the NPCs
https://imgur.com/a/P4zItfR update
a long way from Yavor V/Pie level stuff but holy hell texturing does a lot
might be best if you avoid random block placement, when mix matching blocks try to make use of similarly textured blocks to keep the building from looking noisy.
You could also try to use different blocks based on what their purpose is going to be, a vertically textured block for walls and horizontally textured block for ceilings and floors
could use an specific block for the corners too
Looks good nonetheless, keep it up!
Which wood/stone wall has a vertical texture?
awh wiki shows ebonwood but thats corruption only, guess ill go make a corruption world rq
Ebon and shadewood
Mahogany goes both ways if it's one thin
Bamboo is vertical too
same applies to shadewood but unfortunately it has that ugly texture if you lay blocks under it ☹️
at least ash wood is a good 3rd wood for my wood mix in cases like the build above
I'm offering mahogany as under some circumstances substitution of shadewood cause bro asked for vertical
Better roof
The painted wood looked awkward
i wish I bought shingles when the merchant was here, is he actually rarer post ML
he never appears anymore
Tm sucks ass
We have rich mahogany leaf wand at home
the rich mahogany leaf wand at home:
I wanted Wendy
He brought me every other dst painting with several repetitions
Not Wendy tho
sounds like TM
Son of a
the bereaved is such a good painting
I got my Wendy eventually
My lovely child
I've written poems about them god forsaken sisters
i'm surprised we didn't get a maxwell painting
I am not settling for a fuckin Wilson painting
that is what shocked me most with dst crossover
we kind of just got a cloud & that's it
It's like ds all over again
who the hell is wendy
Blond girl painting from the don't starve cross over
ohh
I really like Wendy
Mostly because she is angst potential more than any of the OG playable cast
I have over 70p so once TM comes imma buy up his entire supply
And I like me a good tragedy also her design is just cute
There's something especially endearing about the OG cast wearing black white and red and a child that murders things to summon her sister having the pink flower on her hair
Like u go adorable lil menace
abagail reference
Plus I make it my mission to get almost every placeable item from TM
I have no knowledge of don't starve
It sucks
LOL
I love that game but almost everyone I know who has played it suffered and gave up
https://imgur.com/a/Tv2sxi0 tryna make a bridge, any tips
I do not think recommending it is fair as a result
i played for an hour and gave up and refunded, so yeah accurate
Change fences to brown painted boreal fence it's fancier, better for stone bridge, make the mahogany column gray so it extends the supports
In general stone bridge looks better held by stone cause the illusion of weight and all that ain't broken
where's my 2 stacks of boreal wood when I need it ffs
idk this looks kinda bland
the boreal fences I mean
Ehh
I wouldn't go for them I was trying to keep ur wooden fence but make it look a little more fitting
You can add decorations
Lamps
Platforms on top of some of the fences to make em look cooler
There's lots of options tbh
I like that idea
I have an old one
Hard part is knowing about the options haha
I think I used brass shelf or smth
Trial and error it is then
brass shelf is dungeon exclusive, sad
It's called looking at what the experts are doing and copying that
Not really
that's what I did with the house
That just gets you stuck eventually when you have an idea that an expert hasn't done
I just did my own version of one of the houses in your forest town example
I lied
It is not brass shelf
Boreal wood platform is goated
It is the dungeon shelf
that's called a brass shelf
Very good choice on my part so glad to see I never used it again
No it's called dungeon shelf
The brass one is like a single thin line
First left is dungeon shelf
Second right is brass
I use brass for generic rulick shenanigans
Cant do platform thinning out gradient without copying the master
great trick already looks decent now
i should learn custom trees and then this part of the town is done I think
Whats the black stufd
floating island (teleporter hub but has like 3 teleporters) with poorly made void/abyss tentacles like in Silksong
I really wish devs added a new teleporter where when you teleport, where when you teleport instead of a teleportation sound and you teleporting somewhere, it had like a door opening sound and your screen just goes black for a second, it’d make building immersive houses that you enter via portals way cooler
Like your entering a building in a rpg game
Maybe there's a mod for this
just looked and there is from what im seeing
idk why no enbed but
ts
def feels possible to use it as what hes trying to do
it would be a nice feature for ReLogic to add
There should be a post ML hand of creation upgrade with luminite or shimmer that gives you another huge reach and speed boost
Like the rod of harmony
And also maybe even extend crafting station reach and chests
Teleporters make a noise?
icl I used teleporters twice in my life
but it's like a
idk teleport sound 😭
idk how else to word it
sounds like a teleport
hello can i get some help?
I literally had an idea just like this guy
I hope she leaves you
bars
ur ard
❓
❄️
sure whatever you say bud
https://imgur.com/eUwBk00 Trees are hard, man
pretiiii
.
veri pretti
Thank you
He likes the texture, best seat in the house lol
fair
i this good for my first playthrough btw
i js used the advice my friend gave me
It’s good, many housing spaces. And I like that u try out different backgrounds and use the hammer. If you’re interested in learning more on how to design the houses there’s a lot of good tutorials on YouTube. U could try using similar blocks to create more texture in the stone and wood. A general tip could be to try different wood types colored brown. As well as different stone block like stone, stone bricks and other bricks colored gray. Overall I like the houses and I wish good luck with building more.👍👍
id assume it might feel like a bean bag
ever sat on a beanbag?
did you ever laid on a waterbed?
combine those 2
aside from mods you could like have the wiring also hooked up to a door so you can hear the door sound
or like a little closer to mods, you might be able to add a resource pack that changes the teleporter sound to a door sound
like echo coat a door somewhere
something like this, though you can still hear the teleporter, dont know if you can fix that completely vanilla
teleporter kinda overpowers the door sound which sucks
Doing something specific should remove the teleporter sound tbh
even if you add more doors i think it gets quieter
my thought is that youre hearing a door further away as opposed to the one right next to you
is there a way to configure tModLoader so that it doesn't ask for the server password every time? sorry, wrong channel
Does anyone have inspo pics of a really immersive detailed and textured cave build? Not much online but I know it exists
are you willing to do a world download i would love to see more
i don't do world downloads, i build directly on a server which has plenty of my builds as maps
Regular no, only crystal and jungle
Which wall is that used for the horizontal beams
Ashwood

not my greatest work, but not my worst either
it also took me 7 hours for some reason
this is hella great man
