First tried to make a huge relic structure with rooms for every boss but it felt owerwelming

The exterior is done, not the interior though but I think you can get the idea of what's going to be in it. I don't know how to prevent zombies from falling off the platform so I'm gonna have to live with zombies randomly raining down lol. I didn't have much of an idea of how to make the "entrance" better so I just made it like the top of a well.

I also accidentally placed the wrong wall while building and noticed that it looked good for details so I placed them randomly in the base.

The center diamond shape is made out of actuated glass, that's how I get the edges, the walls are mostly ebonbrick with gray brick, with palladium column for the indents and occasional use of accent stone slab for the balconies and above the gates

That's true, so far I have not made any building on terraria outside of just functional box houses and basements as I haven't actually took a dig into the building aspect of terraria, but if I do, I would love to make some fantasy buildings with some element of high elven or somewhat medieval looking buildings as those are the type of work I do on minecraft

Terraria has its own limitations, different to those in Minecraft, a lot of these would probably translate better as exterior but it's gonna be hard to have a functional base with mostly exterior too

That being said get the painter and the mechanic and you should be good to try stuff around, there's a lot of stuff locked behind boss progression but actuating blocks into the background and painting stuff is technically the essential building tools for something fancy

the Guide NPC is your best friend, he can tell you general goals to work towards and what you can craft with different materials
learn how to build housing and more helpful NPCs will join your little village as long as you have suitable free homes and you fulfil any other requirements they might have
always brings some platforms and rope with you to make exploration easier, at least until you get really good mobility accessories
explore the world, loot all chests you find, and remember to have fun! 🙂
