in addition, vortex beater has 50 base damage while xenopopper has 45

so yeah, vortex beater is strictly better, but as i said its really surprising how close xenopopper is.....

I beat hardcore classic mode on my first hardcore attempt of terraria. I'm now doing hardcore master mode on my 3rd master mode hardcore attempt, into hardmode with palladium armor and 64 defense

LIterally before I started this challenge I had never even played master mode

Make a giant herb garden, have a stack of swiftness, regen, ironskin, and dangersense potions asap, then endurance as soona s you have a fishing spot low enough.... Flatten out huge amounts of the world, quarantine huge amounts of the world. Build over the top of biomes entirely if you have to. Put campfires and heart lanterns where you mgiht not even think yo u need them... you can make thousands of campfires easily why not have them? Place banners in your arena of course and elsewhere like the dungeon.

For hardmode, for easy access to biomes for farming, to collect blocks. I like to thave easy access to all my pylons and from those pylons to likely places where hallow and corruption will be in hardmode. I go in and disarm all the traps in the caves near my pylon bases beforehand, because hardmode doesn't stop you from exploding to... explosives.

if you play hardcore the most important potion in the game is dangersense potion. If you go underground without one on, you are risking the end of the game

yes that's why I always recommend going ice first in hardcore for shiverthorn

I mean I'm usually careful for enemies that could kill me
and ones that have in the dark visibility like wraiths rarely go unnoticed
