Try to loot golden chest and you'll sometimes find an item which will summon the typical earliest boss

you will most likely want to grab a hardmode weapon, preferably one with decent piercing (deadalus stormbow an exception)
as well as a hardmode set of armor - the stat difference is large

you could just use the accessory slot for something else, also fledgling wings are a 1/40 chance from sky island loot, so you won't get them in most playthroughs anyway

And make sure it's not near a lake

it disappears when the ground under it is destroyed
