The best place to start at would be just making tiny, simple mods and studying different portions of modding as you make more and more complex mods. For example, you could make a mini mod that simply makes demon eyes go super fast and zombies have 10x HP. And I'm sure you could always ask questions in the dedicated tmodloader server (a link is in #server-spotlight )

for starters, it took me around 3 months to make all these songs in total, procrastination and general lack of inspiration to blame for that: 2.. it's FL Studio. It's simple and easier to use then other midi softwares, although the inability to slide midi notes limits the depth of the songs somewhat. And 3rd. the inspiration came from a bunch of sources, from doom levels and their themes, to other creators and their work, to my general autism guiding my brain through some weird shit
