some swords emulate this behavior with projectiles such as nights edge or excaliburs which are not true melee since they dont inhibit that specific mechanic
theres also swords that spawn projectiles onhit like muramasa or the bee sword, both of which arent true melee either since while they do have the specific true melee mechanic they also deal additional dmg through projectiles which nullifies them
