17% damage reduction is not worth trying to exist within the general vicinity of the corruption (even with skeletron being down I still grew vile mushrooms and farmed eaters for rotten chunks in a contained environment to get the materials to spawn it and then used actuated ebonstone in a completely walled off room for the corruption biome)
