ultimately i think the vibe of the show will honestly be most decided by how he ends up handling his older songs

like if it's more of a genre diverse faithful performance of adventure & gf stuff or if they're all stylized to the new era

Right now I’m personally leaning toward it being somewhere in the middle - not every piece of older music being 100% stylized to new era, but also not a near perfect emulation of their original sound/feel like Smile live mostly was for Nurture/Worlds

a lot of the "nightclubs" here dont really have anything happening thursday night. Venues like Mission Ballroom, Ogden Theater, Bluebird Theater, Fillmore Auditorium etc might have shows to go to though!

Weird niche things: MEOW WOLF DENVER. THAT'S THE BEST ONE IMO. GO THERE IF YOU CAN!!! Other than that - honestly, places like Denver Art Museum, Matter Books/Art, Twist & Shout Records, etc are great places

FOOD: Mexican food - Adelitas Cocica y Cantina, La Loteria, Illegal Pete's, Torchy's Tacos, those are just a few places i can think of - CO is known for good mexican food. If you can, try good Colorado Green Chilli too. There are also a ton of great asian places in denver - Aloy Thai, Hapa Sushi, Pho Haus, Sushi Katsu, etc. American food - Jelly (Breakfast), Denver Biscuit Company, Postino, Cherry Cricket, Denver Central Market

these are all things in DENVER, btw. Red Rocks is not near Denver. It's in a fully different town/mountain area, just so you are aware 🙂

a bunch of artists (porter, underscores, etc) are adding bands only to make the show a little better but WAY to the show's detriment

porter spent so much hauling a band around on tour that they had to straight up can the south america leg of the tour which sucks so bad

you gotta be VERY confident ALL your shows will sell at least like 50-75% capacity before you commit to a band imo. it's a lot of work and if shows undersell you're fuucked

cheaper shows (for the artist themselves) therefore possibly more locations and more times to see them >>>>> having a live band
it's a cool experience you can do for special shows but not at every one

Idk whether you like it or not, Porter said when Nurture Together happened that when he made Nurture this was how he envisioned playing the songs live, and smile has a crapload of guitar on it, the band was part of his vision so I support that 🤷🏻‍♂️ It is way more expensive and therefore is a lot more financially risky, and I do PREFER solo Porter live shows, but idk I support an artist presenting their music/album in the way they want to and don’t see good reason to rag on them for it
