kk
But im not sure abt kde's name
wait let me google it
Tbh if you are using kde X11 id use startx
Wait....
Did you download X server and wayland server
X server
Add yourself to the render group
And generate the x config file
Then install the xorg tools
And then you are set
Same happened with me when installing xfce
how?
iam little bit dumb
so please be patient with me
Sudo gpasswd -a (username) render
But for me to be honest you need install the entierty of xorg
And generate the xorg config
Then make an .xinitrc
how is the xorg tools package named ??
Just do sudo emerge --ask xorg
x11-base/xorg-proto
x11-base/xorg-drivers
x11-base/xorg-server
ig i have the server 100% and idk about other
how... 3:
yea??
DOES IT SAY FAILED TO START USER
where ?
Install elogind if you dont have it
i have
so how to generate it ??
yea
usr home dir
Yes
done
Nano /home/(username) .xinitrc
what to put in??
And put this
exec startplasma-x11
done
Save it
done
Log in your user
TTY ??
Yes
done
Do sudo chown (username) ~/.xinitrc
done
Now simply type startx
Ohhhh
with that thing i sent on start of this thread
how to kill proces in linux using kill command ?? 3:
pkill -9 sddm
thx
Now do startx
so allwas manually type startx ??
Yeah
okey... how to delete sddm than ??
option remove doesnt exist
dome ig
done ?
....
Something is relying on sddm
Add the verbose flag
I wanna see who is relying on sddm
Yeah keep sddm
Kde wants it
But bcz sddm doesnt startup on boot now
You are basically done
oke thank you for your time :3
Np anytime
Make a .sh files that makes it so that if user.aduskaaa starts it executes startx
I honestly wouldnt install kde just because kde takes a day abd a half on my cpu
it took maybe an hour on mine so... :3
and i honestly like it
E
i just didnt liked how bloated it was on fedora
I have a i3-4160 and a mechanical harddisk and 6 gbs of ram
yaiks....
happens :3
Upgrading to an i7 with 8 cores of the same gen
Which is way better
And gonna get 16 gigs of ram
i know :3
Is your gpu an nvidia gpu?
dang
i will probably also have to go through all this
since I'm installing kde tmrw
sddm indeed sucks
no... AMD
Good enough
Alr im making a script for ya
Since i have nothing to do really
here ya go
uh
it didnt send
wth
uhhhhh
put into codeblock
