Need a little help with the installation

Hi, so it's the first time I install Gentoo and I have a couple questions regarding best practices and dualboot :

1. I want to set up a dual boot with Linux and Windows, but how do I mount the root partition? /boot/efi or /efi or /boot or something else?
2. I'd like to use Niri as a window manager in the future - which profile should I select? Just the default one or the desktop profile?
3. Would it be better to use a precompiled kernel for Gentoo or to configure and build my own?

I know the wiki probably provides a few answers but I'm a little overwhelmed. Thanks for the help in advance!

1. where the efi partition is doesn't matter, I like to have mine under /efi
2. desktop
3. start with the precompiled kernel, you can easily swap kernel later on
