#Oasis installation issues
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
they have a wiki for installation
if u want minimalism
just get void linux
it has a easier installer
but its default init is runit
im pretty sure
if u want to change inits
install gentoo
but
you can just use
void
also
this is a gentoo
oh nvm
says other distro
@vagrant stirrup
oasis uses smaller and simpler implementations of libraries and tools whenever possible:
musl instead of glibc
sbase instead of coreutils
ubase instead of util-linux
pigz instead of gzip
mandoc instead of man-db
bearssl instead of openssl
oksh instead of bash
sdhcp instead of dhclient or dhcpcd
vis instead of vim or emacs
byacc instead of bison
perp and sinit instead of sysvinit or systemd
netsurf instead of chromium or firefox
samurai instead of ninja
velox instead of Xorg
netbsd-curses instead of ncurses
some of the things here
make some things
impossible to do
like
using some tools
or something like that
i had musl for a while
but switched back
and i dont even know about velox
just use void
netsurf is a mess
by the way
I'm aware now if you could actually help me that would be much appreciated.
I already stated i found it confusing that is why I'm asking for help.
