Hello,

I'm trying to install Gentoo on a Dell precision 3540. I installed a binary kernel and used dracut for the initramfs. During boot the only output displayed is:

EFI stub: Loaded initrd from LINUX_EFI_INITRD_MEDIA_GUID device path

Loading Linux 6.6.62-gento-dist ...
Loading initial ramdisk ...

I've gotten it to boot a handful of times by reinstalling the kernel/grub/initramfs, but it doesn't persist across reboots.
I've enabled set gfxpayload=keep and nomodeset

The install was done following the installation guide and use UEFI.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

what kernel

#

have you tried ugrd?

#

plain dist-kernel or do you have patches?

I made it, I think so lol

#

I made it because I got tired of dracut bugs

#

that may not fix this though, I'm thinking maybe fast boot in the bios?

#

dracut often tried to load video stuff which sometimes causes issues

ugrd is outputting [ kernel module directory does not exist for kernel: 6.6.62

My /lib/modules directory only has 6.6.62-gentoo-dist listed. I'm assuming that's the problem?
