if anyone has some advice for getting 340 nvidia working in 2024 please tell me, it wasnt a repo issue

i tried older kernels, i tried newer kernels, the repo im using supposedly has patches for both new and old kernels, dont know whats up. i just wanna play quake man, it really sucks 
i dont like asking for help, im really stubborn but man i'm stumped.

namely something about PCI_DRM lanes when compiling, gimme a sec ill run it through again rq
which would make sense for the drivers themselfs, but this was the kmod
excuse the image gore, but this laptop basically has nothing on it, and i dont have anything to SSH the log out of atm
so something about a "drm_pci_set_busid"

atm nuked my current (albeit new) install, im just going to manually install the 4.4 kernel and nvidia 340 drivers outside portage
