#cinnamon wayland

I was able to get wayland working on debian, but not gentoo
I am going to try something with the sddm configs
Oh kwin is in the config, this is probably why it fails
I tried removing all lines except specifying wayland but it didn't work, it just hangs
i use the terminal wayland session login manager display manager and it gets me into labwcwm which is openbox
theres a way to test if the commands actually working dbus-run-session cinnamon-session-cinnamon --wayland maybe where cinnamon-session-cinnamon --wayland doesnt work it needs dbus
Oh nice
It's building with (-wayland) for some reason even with wayland flags
Rebuilding Nvidia drivers to see if it fixes as that does install wayland
I updated to Nvidia 565 but the same issue remains despite Nvidia having access to wayland. Seems like something is preventing wayland on Cinnamon from emerging
I am now on dist kernel 6.11.5
I think that might mean the USE flag itself is itself masked because it's marked as testing?
there is only one version of cinnamon though?
I thought I used the ~amd64 flag to check, will check again
didn't fix when I used ~amd64
even adding to my make.conf did nothing
