#wifi post install [resolved via going back to livecd]
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
running. will update
I've not used wifi for my desktop in over 10 years, but I found using wpa_supplicant and just any dhcp client (I'm using udhcpc) is enough for everything
as I started using wifi in the last couple months
the issue is i don’t have it on the laptop
this ran successfully, but running nm returns ‘a.out’ no such file
both returned as not found, which is why i tried just nm
wgetpaste not found lmao
lmfao
equery not found 😭
i’m convinced the system just… doesn’t exist
yup
that ran fine
try the prev again?
still not found
equery
oh no
i didn’t notice
it failed to install
ah
name resolution error aka no connection
yeah, that’s the issue??
thats gonna fail
temp fail in name resolution
unreachable
yeah i tried that
all you need to do is, chroot in, then emerge
yup
failed to run command ‘/bin/bash’: No such file or directory
from:
chroot /mnt/gentoo /bin/bash
ran as root
wait i can send a screenshot now
oh umm whoops
me rushing 🔥
which is why this started
i should slow down
only the last 2 succeeded
LMFAO
i did not realise that
sda1 was boot
sda2 was swap
sda3 was filesys
i believe
oh yeah ofc i have to do that again
i may have forgot i needed to do that again
yes i'm guessing??
all done!
so now i jsut need to get the pkgs?
massive emerge command now i presume?
called it
I'll return when/if that completes
this the return
successful
1s
yu[p
its pinging
also isn't it better idea to run ping [site] -c 3 or ping [site] -c 5 etc. over jsut ping [site]
k
i'm aware
is that not better than having to terminate the command
yup
do i need to send ss of the pkgs again?
yup
