fucking went to the shadow realm, no clue
I wish them a safe journey!
it looks amazing
very nice
@bitter stream btw
two things
fix your locale :D
run this:
sudo sh -c "cat > /etc/locale.gen" << EOF
# /etc/locale.gen: list all of the locales you want to have on your system.
# See the locale.gen(5) man page for more details.
#
# The format of each line:
# <locale name> <charset>
#
# Where <locale name> starts with a name as found in /usr/share/i18n/locales/.
# It must be unique in the file as it is used as the key to locale variables.
# For non-default encodings, the <charset> is typically appended.
#
# Where <charset> is a charset located in /usr/share/i18n/charmaps/ (sans any
# suffix like ".gz").
#
# All blank lines and lines starting with # are ignored.
#
# For the default list of supported combinations, see the file:
# /usr/share/i18n/SUPPORTED
#
# Whenever glibc is emerged, the locales listed here will be automatically
# rebuilt for you. After updating this file, you can simply run `locale-gen`
# yourself instead of re-emerging glibc.
en_GB.UTF-8 UTF-8
en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8
EOF
then run
sudo locale-gen
then run sudo eselect locale set en_GB.utf8
I love posix
idk if he can afford it
why the laughing?
what if he spent all his money on the pc tho
(and speakers)
which one?
2x Neumann Audio KH120a's. 2x Kali Audio WS-6.2s + interface (some audient one) and cabling
Your sound system is more expensive than your PC?
yes
le audiophile
they are by far best value for what was my budget
yea he like his audio
nothing wrong with it
why did he cheap out on rams
ive had this computer since 2021, ive been slowly upgrading it
I wasnt using gentoo at the time when I built it, so I wasnt conscious on cpu + ram
I cared more about raw single core performance and GPU
fun fact I originally wanted a 5900x / 5950x instead of the 5800x. But at the time they were out of stock literally everywhere
What are the trade offs to consider of using this selinux?
Does it make an issue on software compatibility and how it differs to a normal profile.
I've been interested to any cybersecurity aspects so I want to consider to set this up soon
The software u use needs to support it. If you frequently install and uninstall stuff - experimenting ect, SELinux probs isnt for you. SELinux is good for when you have a certain amount of programs installed and they dont change much/if at all. Otherwise its just gonna be a PITA. I would advise mapping out your attack vectors for your personal system configuration and determining which is most important to ur use case.
I don't delete or add programs that much, basically I'm just using programs that are needed to my use cases.
yeah by all means try it out then, its pretty fun (but also painful) - be mindful that if someones gonna try exploit ur system tho, dont overlook the more simpler methods that an attacker could use, SELinux isnt a "catch all" sorta thing
Is it stable or still on exp?
hmmm not too sure, I use custom profiles so I just combine different parts of different profiles so ive never touched the premade SELinux profiles
gentoo:arch/amd64/no-multilib
gentoo:features/hardened
gentoo:features/selinux
gentoo:targets/desktop/gnome/systemd```
these are the profiles I combined if ur curious ^
Oh its okay to combine multiple profiles?
yeah :) its completely okay
I will look on the wiki first and ask further questions
i wanna update that wiki page, its a bit unclear
no
this is a bad idea

Wait how did you make the title bar like that.
adw-gtk3-dark - its my fav theme
Like it seems almost no title bar
r u talking about the window titlebars or the top-bar
I have no idea how they are like that, but I love them like this
Like if you were from WM setup
You migjt want to minimize or none at all title bar
I thought it was the adw-gtk3 theme
the screenshots from the theme page are inaccurate btw, gnome has changed since and titlebars are thinner im pretty sure
Okay, thanks!
np :)
