hi, this is becoming a problem, so if anyone is willing to help it will be much apreciated. i downloaded the sources with gentoo-sources, configured, ran make, make modules_install, make install and updated grub. i even built the initramfs with dracut. when i boot into grub and select that kernel, i just get the msi logo

gentoo-sources with no configuration will not work

those are just sources, not config

dist-kernel is gentoo sources + config based on fedora's config

turns out you actually need to update grub after you make the initramfs

be sure to read the output grub gives you when it runs, i always check to make sure it's including my latest kernel version
