Figured this one out by using the Walburga avenue, but first the actual solution:

Maria Klinger was born on June 10 1898 in Kurzschwarza in Gmünd district in Austria.
She was the daughter of Michael Klinger, a Catholic small house owner in Kurzschwarza, himself a legitimate son of Georg Klinger (a farmer in Eulenbach, Vitis parish) and Anna Ableidinger,
and Maria Pöschl, daughter of Franz Pöschl, retired farmer in Kurzschwarza, and his wife Eva Filler from Klein Ruprechts.

An annotation, based on a report by Rossau parish in Vienna, notes she left the Catholic church on August 24 1929.

Scan for her baptism (Entry 13, first on top, covering both pages: https://data.matricula-online.eu/en/oesterreich/st-poelten/langschwarza/01%2F03/?pg=111)

I figured this out by simply looking on Ancestry for a Walburga Klinger marrying someone named Schaden and finding this marriage (let me know if you a translation), wherein Kurzschwarza and the same parents are noted: https://www.ancestry.com/search/collections/61963/records/98844198?tid=&pid=&queryId=007e0c8c-eca6-461f-aaf9-bd2b7f060d2e&_phsrc=oSZ22245&_phstart=successSource

Same scan but for free: https://data.matricula-online.eu/en/oesterreich/st-poelten/langschwarza/02%252F03/?pg=39

Let me know if a translation or the basics would be needed.

Genealogy in Lower Austria is really accessible and the records are great, but let me know if you need a translation or to find a few more records. What is really good is that the baptisms mention parents and grandparents, as well as places of origin, so getting to the early 19th/late 18th century at least is possible easily most of the time.

Age would certainly fit!
Can't translate the whole article, but it says that the police uncovered a scam, "as usual perpetrated by the Jews" (casual antisemitism ofc), wherein cigarettes that look deceptively like the real ones are filled with inferior tobacco and sold at a large profit.
They managed to dismantle this ring by arresting a few people, among them this Max Keff, but whereas they describe who did what in this scheme, they don't say so for him.

In the end, they only write he along with the others was delivered before the court.

I have some of the lineage completed. Max Keff’s father Moses Keff, then Nachum Keff, then Fischel Keff. But can’t get past that

#

Fischel would’ve been born c. 1800

#

I’m not entirely certain why he came to Vienna in the first place honestly, let alone when exactly

#

I just know that he converted to marry Maria, and was in a concentration camp before coming to the States

I'm not deeply experienced in Ashkenazi research, but from what I recall, often this is the time where it the researchable lines may already end (without wanting to say that is the case here necessarily), and usually the deeper lines are Rabbinic dynasties, early assimilated urban families and the like.

He passed way before I was born so I was never able to talk to him about it. Even if I could I’m not sure he would’ve opened up. My Opa talks about it when he feels like it

Yeah! It’s definitely a lot easier to find info on the Catholics. The Klinger side was just hard with lack of information for a while. My family gives me very vague information lol
