Here are three people who were married in the bronx who are possibilities. None of them are up on NYC Historical Vital Records

I don't have energy now but I think my next step would be searching newspapers for her sister's marriage announcement or obit, to see if she's mentioned by a married name. Have you looked for obits for her parents also?

Hm, you could use newspaperfinder and see what newspapers were available in their area of Florida in 1994?

Tbh my first thought is trying to find the 1950 census for these three Dorothys. The one without a spouse name married Albert L. Gusten, and according to the 1950 census was born around 1950. Seems like they moved to Flordia where Albert died in 1976, and Dorothy died in 1978 where her mother in her obituary is listed as Fannie Sobel, so that one is not our Dorothy.

Looking at the other two now.

This is the 1950 census for the Dorothy who married Samuel Aronoff. She was born about 1915, and there is a Abraham Sobel who is listed as the brother-in-law of Dorothy's husband, but as it seems our Dorothy didn't have any brothers I would say this is not out Dorothy.

Got to go now, but here is the 1950 census for the last Dorothy who married Albert Mann, and was born around 1919. Haven't looked past the census at all as I have to go now, but hopefully someone can to see if this is our one or not.

It seems like this Dorothy's married name was Sobel, not her maiden name?
