Updated to 11.17.0, Luma v6.6 is installed.

I need someone to explain how to solve my issue to me like I'm a kid. how do I update the Luma/CFW on my New 3ds xl so I could use FBI on it etc. I've already tried looking https://3ds.hacks.guide/ but I can't really navigate where to start.

To download it you need to install a torrent client to your pc

Can you now check that the files are correctly named? Because if you've had them off the whole time then files may have the wrong extension (e.g boot.firm.firm)

Don't use winrar, that could be the cause. Use something else like 7zip. Delete all the files/folders that came from a zip, redownload the zip files, and unzip them again

So you're deleting everything that came from either luma zip, safeb9sinstaller, and boot9strap

For 7.0.5 you're only using arm9loaderhax.bin, for the latest version you're putting everything from the zip onto the root of your sd card

So you're unzipping the latest luma first according to the guide, but it doesn't matter the order

-# just to explain it to you, older versions of luma need extra steps to update, since they use a9lh, which is now outdated. Newer luma versions use B9S which is the up to date one. That means you need to change from a9lh to b9s

Easiest way to update luma would be on FBI

Pull up the QR code on a phone or any computer go into FBI and go remote install and select scan QR code

Also most recent version of luma is in the 13.3.2

Although I will point out i’ve got version 13.3.1

And just to be clear, you're holding start, pressing the power button, then letting go of start once you see a menu
