uh hey everyone, my 3DS has a broken touchscreen, and I wanna do a system transfer. The thing is, I need to log in with my NNID to do so, both systems are modded, and I don't know how to get through this. I tried replacing the digitizer, but there are some stripped screws on the motherboard, anyone got advice? Like, ANY advice. I'd appreciate if anyone can lmk abt a way I can overcome the NNID sign in.

You can do a movable moveover instead https://wiki.hacks.guide/wiki/3DS:Movable_Moveover
does that send save data and everything too?
The save data on the broken console's sd card will be readable by the new console
This will not move over your NNID
i see, so what if I wanted my NNID on the new console?
Any installed apps will be moved to the new console, but anything owned by your NNID that isn't installed will not move over (e.g games you bought then uninstalled)
You would have to contact Nintendo
I wouldn't call it hard, but you can read through the guide before you start
I see
so nothing has to be done on the original console itself, just on a pc with its sd card
also will the new system be able to recieve the save data from my game cartridges?
As long as you have the original consoles movable.sed, essential.exefs, or .bin nand backup
also is there, uh, any other way to launch godmode9
You shouldn't need to use the touchscreen, just look at it
Hold start while powering on
Does select work?
How many .firm files are in /luma/payloads/
Original
let me see
1
and its godmode9
hold on... are all these steps only for the destination console, or is it just section 1?
and section 2 and 3 are for both consoles
Wdym
in the tutorial
Section I of the guide is for the destination console
But what I'm telling you to do now is for the source console
Download the .firm and put it in /luma/payloads/ https://github.com/zoogie/b9s_check/releases/tag/v2.0
so whatll this file do?
Then attempt to open the luma configuration menu by holding select while powering on. If it isn't working, try taking about the battery and putting it back in, then powering on normally. Then press "boot chainloader" and press "godmode9"
i put it in payloads, yeah?
Yes
The file itself is irrelevant, but it's for checking your boot9strap version. The reason you're downloading it is because when there is more than one payload the luma configuration menu gives you the option to boot into luma chainloader, which you can then use to open gm9
ok its working, which one do I open, godmode9?
Yes
Do the "creating a nand backup" section https://3ds.hacks.guide/godmode9-usage.html
A complete guide to 3DS custom firmware
Is it asking you to set the date?
mhm the RTC date
If you can, set it. If not, leave it.
ight im in, which sysnand do i select?
Have you made the backup?
It should just say SYSNAND backup
ok now i needs select a script
it show sGM9Megascript
WAIT
MY SCREEN FROZE
uh oh.
its not letting me select or do anything
What step are you on
uh thanks for your help but uhh.
could we talk about this another day
i appreciate your help
your the only one who did
Yeah, ping me when you need me
but ill do this once i recieve the console
im terrified
theres 11 years of data on this 2ds...
It would be better to do the nand backup now then leave everything else for another day
Or at least just copy essential.exefs to the sd card
@bitter pier sorry for disturbing, ya, hehe
apparently, you can use the d-pad and the a button when logging into the NNID!
guess I was freaking out over nothing...
however
I only have one sd card
and I backed up my old systems data on my pc
I used it to mod my other system.
Also did the NAND backup on my old system.
Made sure the other system was logged out of an NNID, did a factory reset and did the thing with gm9.
