I want to mod my 2ds, and ive read and watched videos about it and how to do it, but im still scared I will get bricked or ruin the system permanently. All I really want to do is download the games and customize the home screen, so yea. Id also like to know if youd have to regularly re-new the systems you put on the SD card?

You should definitely mod your 2ds, its difficult to brick it, and you can update your homebrew software through universal updater, without plugging your sd card into a pc.

bricks are practically impossible to do even by accident

#

there’s a lot of safety checks during the dangerous parts

Lol alr

when it is modded, it's possible to break things so it stops fully booting

#

but for as long as you don't remove custom firmware, you can recover from almost any of this

Ok, thank you!

#

If that does happen would i just need to replace the SD?

it really depends on how it stops working

#

we have a guide on black screen unbricking, but a lot of it is just trying to idenfity what the issue is
