Im out right now, pic is from yesterday but it is 4.3.0-0E i can 100% confirm, i am experienced in 3DS/modding and everything i promise im not lying 🙏 can still give a pic when im back later though

yep, system is New Zealand (has eShop on my other 3DS's), and while not updated to latest (11), it is on a release with the eShop, and has internet

that’s super weird! unfortunately i can’t offer any other solutions besides a system update and i understand you want to keep your current version so hopefully someone else might have a fix!

Could be that it's been partially updated from 1.0.0 via a game cartridge?

Is that how it does updates from cartridges? it prompted me to connect to the internet when I put in MK7 and it said I need 4.3 installed, so I assumed it would use internet not cart.

If it were Internet you'd be on 11.17.0-50E

Yeah, but it required me to connect to internet (I didn’t want to have it online) when it said it was going to update to 4.3

Either way I think it probably just updated the base system components to allow the game to run so

Partial upgrades from carts are defo a thing

Yeah I was trying to check games that had DLC purchase options in them like street pass plaza but the options aren’t there

I don't want it updated or modded, ive got 3 other modded systems, i just wanted this as like a "early feel" 3ds with the bare minimum update for games, and just wondered if anyone could solve the eShop mystery

It was not

I even updated to version 11 through a SSB4 cartridge and it still has no eShop

I believe it's because i'm not on the internet on that device

it was a sealed new 3ds originally running 1.0 (no eshop ofc) so maybe just using such big cart updates is a glitch

i'd recommend connecting to the internet and updating to 11.17, and if that doesn't work its time to go nuclear
