Bought this broken new 3ds, my goal is to salvage the motherboard and battery for another project but I’m not even sure what is wrong with this 3ds and I’m wondering if it’s not just the screen or if the motherboard is shorting. When tilted at 90 degrees the console works but has a whirring sound like a fan running at max speed. When screen is anything but 90 degrees it makes an audible pop sound and shuts off. I’m guessing something is shorting, opened it up and saw no cut ribbons or anything out of the ordinary. Don’t care if this device has broken ribbons but I do care if the motherboard is damaged anyone have some insight to this problem?

Even with 3ds slider acts off if you bump the device slightly it will turn on max 3D and bump it again it will turn off 3D

Clean the motherboard and the ribbons are most likely not properly put inside
This sounds like water damage
