Yea I’ve used the regular cord before and unless you have a big cube to attach it to it doesn’t charge very fast

Which isn't fact. Your opinion is incorrect. The amperage determines the charge speed, which is variable in usb ports
So usb can charge properly of the port providing power meets or exceeds the amperage
It's all direct current power. Voltage must be within the ranger of tolerance, amperage should be at least what is needed. Polarity must match. That's all there is to direct current
5 volts from usb is within the 10 percent or so tolerance of the 4.6 volts the 3ds uses
