#How Do I Edit Music Files Metadata?

So I recently started using my 3Ds as an MP3 player, because it's honestly perfect. No ads, easy to import my music as simple mp3's, and the mixing board is amazing.

However, I see that there's a space for metadata for the music files (see image), including what I believe to be the artist, length of the track, and possibly one or two other bits. How can I edit this metadata? What kind of program do I need?? Please ping me with any info

I used an app on Windows called Mp3tag.

#

It's very easy to use

Is there a Mac equivalent?

#

Or possibly a web version?

I see, I'll give it a try! How did it turn out for you on your system?

It works perfectly!

I have the entire soundtrack of The Super Mario Bros. Movie with proper metadata I attached myself.

If you were dumping or buying properly, it would tag when you ripped or downloaded the files

#

Also, it's not like mp3 Metadata hasn't been around for 25+ years with plenty of tools to edit them

#

You're on a mac and you don't know how to use iTunes to tag stuff?

#

It's been able to do that for over 20 years

ah fair enough

#

although i've actually never used iTunes really. I grew up without needing it, I just listened to whatever music the adults around me put on

#

then when I was older and had a pretty well established computer literacy I would just look for the song on youtube and listen to it there

#

so I've never really had a need for iTunes

#

and I didn't grow up using macs exclusively either, i mainly used a chromebook and various windows computers my family members owned

Ok, and most media players can edit the id3 tags as well

#

This isn't rocket science, it's something that's been a standard tool since the 90s

#

Winamp, foobar2000, windows media player, iTunes, and a bunch of others can edit mp3 metadata

And I know these aren't necessarily "older" technologies either, they're just from a time period I'm not very familiar with when it comes to technology, and it always fascinates me
