Alright. I was messing around with my touchscreen for my 2DS XL because it was acting stupid, drifting away from my stylus and all, so I took it apart. Problem is, I turned it back on and now the top screen actually doesn't work anymore. Is there a simple fix or will I have to send it in/buy a new screen? I'm guessing it may be the former but you never know.

When you took it apart did you touch any ribbon cables that connects the screen?
I think i might have. I did unplug the cable and plug it back in at the first sight of the issue. Didn't fix anything though.
also, just for context: when i turned my 2ds on after taking the backing off, i noticed that the top screen was glitching out. so i tried restarting it. the same thing happened. i just let it turn on after that, but once it turned on, the top home screen glitched out, then the screen slowly got darker and deep-fried looking until the top screen finally just went black. as you can see, however, the bottom screen still works.
I would check to see if you scratched any of the individual ribbons on the cable itself
cause your top screen 1. may be broken due to a broken ribbon cable, 2 just not seated in properly
the screen looks like its on just not receiving data
if this were the case it would result as a repair, correct?
Yes but dont take my advice all of this is to your will
craaaaappppp
could this little divot be a problem?
Yes
if thats the screen ribbion connecting to the top screen that is very well the problem
weird, but i can see that.
the dent wasn't causing a problem previously but i think some moisture or something could have made it's way in there.
thanks man.
Try looking for more help since i haven't myself opened any other 3ds's besides the orginals
