Looking to replace these peeled plates but am unsure what they are called. | /r/3DS | Page 1

I just bought this used New 3ds XL for rather cheap due to these plates peeling off and was looking to replace them, but I am not sure what they are called. I googled "new 3ds xl shell replacement" but all that turns up are the ones for the old 3ds xl and what I think are just protective hardshells from ebay that go over the console. Could I get some help on this matter?

Are these the same thing? I wanted to get something more colorful but the shells look different than the ones on AliExpress

I was thinking about finishing the peel to have the metal come through, paint over with a design and give it a gloss finish. The aliexpress replacements have worrisome reviews and just having that peel looks awful, ill prolly get a case for it regardless.
