#best sd card for 3ds/2ds?
27 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
any sd card.. don't bother with high speeds.
Buy fron a reputable shop
max 128gb to avoid bugs.
64gb and 128gb will need to be formatted to fat 32
oh okey thank you👌
What about 256 gb formated to fat 32 !
Safe or better to avoid ?
whatever size card fits your need for space, just like on a computer
that has unfixable bugs
128 is the largest you can go before that happens
Ow damn
Luckily i didn't order it yet
Thanks !
saw a video of someone who has 3ds 1tb and still works with no glitches, its slows down but he didint see the difference ,i just bought moded 3ds with 256 and didint know the higher size could get 3ds slows down or glicthing
64 is good. any brand.
i reccomend san disk
Don't just get the cheapest one you can from Amazon if possible tho. Make sure the seller is trusted and that it's not a cheap copy
The glitches agent always something people will show. I've found 3 games that can't save at all, gba vc and open agb firm get a vertical misalignment with random games, and themes won't stick, plus super long boot times
No point wasting an expensive SD card on 3ds
Hey, creator of the video here, the only bug I've seen is the theme bug, where if game patching is left disabled in the Luma3DS menu, the custom themes do not save after a reboot. I never experienced the DS or GBA vertical misalignment or specific games not saving, but I do not deny their existence. These things never really impeded my 3DS experience yet, but I still do recommend 128GB as your first card so you can maximize on size without possibly encountering these bugs, and can cut down on booting time. Once you run out of space on 128GB, there's nothing stopping you from upgrading.
or you know, you could just not hoard everything in the first place, since there's a 300 title limit
only install what you are actively playing
and we've had tons of people on Reddit and the NH discord show screenshots of the misalignment and ask for a fix
hence we documented what fixed it
and sorry, I don't have the specific games noted that had save trouble, it was back in 2017 before I was documenting everything
don't bother with high speeds? Doesn't that mess with loading times for installed games?
@hollow fiber no, 3ds has slow read/write speeds anyway, so doesn't take advantage of fast cards
Is it known what the max sd rw speed of the 3DS is?
class 4
it breaks game saving and themes
new or old 3ds?
