you need to format it
If you have a windows pc download guiformat.
Format it to fat 32, and select 64k(655something) allocation.
I dont understand,
Cant i do smt else?
No, it shipped as exfat, 3ds can't use exfat
Fat32 has to be set on the card by another device, preferably a real computer where you have full admin, aka Mac, Linux, or windows
If your 3ds is modded you can also use godmode 9
Ok then what do i do
Get GUI format on your computer then select The SD Card then format to FAT32
@ancient scaffold could probably explain it better though
Ok
@ancient scaffold help
google guiformat,
open the website,
click the image, download guiformat.
plug your sd into the pc
Install/open guiformat
select your sd
select allocation (655something)
click start/run
done
Thx alot
It already said this in the faq
I cant put a MICRO sd into a computer
can you put it into your phone?
Leme check
No
welp then you seem to be out of luck for now
I'd recommend nicely asking a friend, parent or whoever else if you can format your SD card on their computer
btw
Wait
can you also not read normal sd cards?
I'm using a 64 gb card
Ho
idk why these sources say you can only go to 32gb, I've encountered sources like that as well
well maybe because by default windows doesn't let you create a fat32 partition larger than that by default
minitool partition wizard, window's own partition manager, gparted and a lot of others can do it
Nintendo says it can only be up to 32GB on a 3ds system but yah because the 3ds can only format up to 32GB but if you format using a computer you can use as much as you want
Thx everyone now i go get a 32 gb
Whats that
Allows you to use a micro sd card using a usb drive
Too complicated im good with 32gb
I buy from bestbyy
Any computer thing is way too complicated for me tbh
Okkk
I literally have this exact one
sadly doesn't allow for both a micro SD and a standard SD simultaneously, but if you only put in one it works perfectly
It’s not a problem it’s just it wasn’t formatted otherwise it would work fine
Which this issue was also in the FAQ
yep
i had to use my netbook to do this cause i use linux or the laptop has no sd card slot
if you wanna format your sd card @lyric cloak you can look in the FAQ of #1019955967410065418
they dont have an sd card slot or an adapter
Well then just simply buy an adapter or look at some pcs which you can use for free which have the slot maybe built in
do you know how much is enough? like is 32gb enough, or do you think 64 is better, generally speaking
Well honestly 32 is probably enough for most people
3DS games are generally only 1-2GB in size
oh okay, my gameboy sp could only load 4 games on the 32gb ezfalsh
so i was getting a little worried
I didn't get the 64gb cards for my 3ds's. The one card I had as my switch card (but due to emunand taking up a ton of space I switched to 128) and the other one my dad literally found at an airport
Only 4 gameboy games? On 32GB?
Space is not the issue there, it's sth else
and i plan on playing the gba games on the ds
Good choice. You can emulate GBA on 3ds lmao
yea i think something was taking up space
its fine tho, i wanted to play ds games
on a ds
and not on my computer lol
Again, good choice
Sure you can, buy a reader that takes micro like
Because Nintendo themselves say 32 is max because they don't want to do support on non Nintendo devices to reformat a card and break sdxc spec
