#THE 3DS RIGHT HINGE BROKE AGAIN GAH
34 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
The left hinge is holding on btw.
I do have a habit of reopening this 3ds all the time, so the glue might've lost its power.
Is it still usable?
Well, on a technical sense, yes
Until the left hinge gets damaged it'll be fine
However, on a using level, I wouldn't use it
Cause the things in that left hinge are extremely fragile and annoying/difficult to replace
The only true, lasting way to fix it, as you mentioned, is to replace the shell
Which is annoying, but a $15 shell will cost less than the $45+ in replacing all the easy to damage components in the left hinge
And then if those break you'll essentially be doing the shell replacement's worth of work to fix it anyways
You can see some glue residue from the right hinge cuz it broke before and i glued it
In total it broke 3 times

Case in point about the shell lol
I could just glue it again
Yeah and I could just text my ex, doesn't mean its the best idea
I'll glue it for the time being once i find someone who can replace the shell
That'll work ig
I can also try data transfering to a different 3DS but I don't think anyone has done that
It may be unreliable
I don't think anyone has tried that
My guy, it's literally a stock feature
No it's very reliable, as long as the 3DS stays on for the process
If your current system reliably stays on, and you happen to have another system you can transfer to, that is an option
Likely not the cheapest option, but-
Everyone i saw really just only replace the shell
Really just anything can go wrong if i do it myself
Alright
