there is no easy way to do that, you would need to build a custom application with a hidden icon (this is much easier said than done)

If the apps are missing, the system knows they are and tries to download them via an update. Online services won't let you connect while an update is pending, so you have to update

There is no useful reason to remove the applications

the real technical details is to make an application that does nothing, but the title id matches the app you want to "hide", and with a flag set in the icon to not show it on the home menu

but doing this is annoying, you need a PC to build the cia for each one, and you still need a bunch of files you would need to build a normal application

And really, the apps take up no useful space you'd want to free up, nand space is reserved for them and not really usable by general applications

The only thing they might do is reduce your icon count, and you could just not hoard having 300 games installed at once, since you have means to juggle your games onto external storage for later reinstall, and eshop isn't going offline for downloads anytime soon

So it is a complicated solution to something that generally isn't a problem
