I would really like to highlight that there's quite a lot of voters wanting 2 weeks if not more between events because it's definitely not mentioned enough imo. I've seen people being shutdown for asking for more breaks and that's sad. Events can be fun but also quite taxing depending on what they are and which event follow which.
I personally believe 1 week is too short because work is taking my time, and it's draining, and I also have other things to do beside that so it's nice to know I'm not the only one who seems to think so

It might not be obligatory to do but some people like to collect every reward, so they don't miss any, even if they don't necessarily like some of the events that are happening (we can't like everything). Just to note, from what I've seen so far, only the summer event and Christmas event last 2 months. Usually an event on average is like 3 weeks to a month, but some events only last 2 weeks (and in that last case scenario, that's not enough time for some of us to complete sometimes).
What I'm trying to say is, nobody is forcing players to do the events, however, some people just want to enjoy the game with more spaced events and I believe there's nothing wrong with it. People who wants events will still get them either way. It's all about balance, and not just listening to one side and not the other.

how to finish the event:
step 1: go to #event chat and mention which cheese you have and which ones you need
step 2: if you find a match that's great! if not, wait for other people to mention which cheese they have. if you find one you need, use /watch on that person and HOP EVERY INTERNATIONAL ROOM until you find them. hop to their language server too if you're that desperate but you have 2 more weeks so i would not do this
step 2.5: if you have to wait a long time until the next event round you can also add them to your friendlist. you can't tell what room they're in if they don't add you back but then you can tell if they're still online when it's almost time for the event
step 3: when the event map shows up follow them and offer a high five. if they seem to be waiting for someone else let them get their high five first before you offer yours. hope you don't accidentally high five someone else, or that they log off/go AFK.
step 4: profit?
