It also refers to lemons as "citron", which is French for "lemon". They're both derived from the same words linked with "citrus" but I saw someone the other day mention maybe the pumpkins need to be turned into lemons, and looking at the French it could be that tig/whoever links pumpkins and lemons more strongly than non-French speakers do
