discord can be a great replacement for the forums, but it is true that the forums were and are quite unique

Forums have uses and features Discord doesn't, while it's common for some companies to migrate their forum efforts to Discord, they are still very different. You can't search for stuff on search engines for example
That said, I don't think a new forum is planned as things have been moving to ingame or discord already

i would personally find it easier to search for stuff in a discord server. i think organizing everything properly in fitting channels and maybe mixing it up with different kinds of channels like galeries + threads would make the user experience quite smooth
but i am biased towards discord because i somewhat know how to use it, on the contrary the forums for me feel like a quite complicated mess and i never got around of learning how it actually works

But i have it in my library on steam and still installed.. so i can click on play and its launching without issues
