i changed my name some months ago, i created my account in 2013 and kept the 0000 tag all these years

having that original name is actually the way you yourself acknowledge the age of your account i think

i changed mine because i was also quite bored of my old nickname

and i get that tags can be displayed in rooms more commonly and its a pain to do module rooms that have you as admin because you have to remember your tag

but i just adapted and i can say it isnt that bad

a tag is just a tag at the end of the day, just a bunch of numbers that just make it that you don't get mixed with someone else. friends will still call you the same way they usually do or they will adapt to your new nickname and forget about the tag as well

discord had tags and no one used to call me end#3565 or whatever, and same with other games
