The Flash plugin for YouTube became obsolete, hence the removal of the music rooms. YouTube now uses an HTML5 video player instead of Flash.
Back then you couldn't move the video player around as well, so my guess is the "hacky" workaround Atelier 801 made in order to bring this video player back.
