The last thing I did to this game, boy was I replaced the button membranes

And then I put it back together.

We're missing some board pictures and / or some context
What kit are you using ?
Is there a custom color platte setting perhaps ?
If not, you probably just need to clean your screen ribbon and/or reseating it properly - unless you damaged the ribbon, which would be cheap to replace

I just want to reiterate, it does this with all games. I just used MegaMan and bass as an example.

this is most likely the ribbon cable not being properly seated, or just dirty. Try again.
