Good evening. I have a GBC and just installed a Funnyplaying IPS and I am getting nothing on the screen. It powers on and I can hear music in the background. Plugged old screen back in and it work fine. New caps, CleanAmp Pro ( I disconnected to take it out of equation ) used both batteries and benchtop supply. Any idea where I should look or did I just get a dud? Not sure if there are points on the ribbon cable I can check for power to make sure I just don't have faulty cable. Couple of links, one with OG screen and one with FP. https://photos.app.goo.gl/DbvJrLW2HJBmurnh9 and https://photos.app.goo.gl/apDKX2yP3NXeGafbA. This was purchased direct from FP. Also wanted to add, I was able to push the ribbon cable in completely so no gold was showing and it made no difference.

The pad on the black ribbon that handles power from the switch looks a bit cooked.
Got a multimeter? You coild check that pad and follow the trace down to its end and then check for continuity
I'll do that now. Not sure how I could have cooked it. Was only on it for a second.
Those pads are thinner than they look. Ive cooked one before
Wire is good. The picture was misleading. I'm trying to upload that now
Well that's one possibility down.
Here it is
Now that I'm looking at it, it looks like the round power solder pad connects to the rectangular pad to the left of it, yet I have no continuity there.
I did find continuity between the power pad and a test pad at the end of the driver board ( where 8 solder circles are
I put in a ticket with FP but I'm hoping we can get it working before I have to deal with a return.
as long as you can document that you tested it before installation, you should be up for a free replacement.
I have something to add. If I have the lights off in room, I can see the faintest of what looks like the backlight coming on. Still nothing visible as far as a game playing or the Gameboy Color logo lighting up
