Hi all,

Ive got a frontlit sp that has decided the light is optional. I just need a bit of guidance on what to test. I think the pins on the back of the pad are voltage for the frontlit. I know a pin on the ribbon is responsible but not which one.

The tactile buttons have been dying out slowly so I need to test that one too.

Hey there
Would you be able to verify your light button with a multimeter in continuity mode ?
Poke two sides of the button and press it

Sounds good, now just to be sure, do the same thing with a probe on ground and a probe on the Q12B test pad (under the light button, diagonal left)

Yep continuity when pressed

Hmm. Light seems to be working again. May have just been some dirt or a bad cable seat

Okay definitely ribbon cable or the connector. Pressure on that area tends to make it work

And the ribbon does look a little rough but ill reflow the connector tomorrow as well
