#Touch sensor cycling through every option

I’ve been looking for ways to remove the touch sensor (or disable it) for the laminated ita without any soldering but I haven’t found anything exact or anything that I can understand. I aim to have button control for the OSD sometime in the future but it’s not on right now. From what I’ve gathered you can cut it off. But I’m not sure where to go from there or if there’s any issues with cutting it off. Otherwise I’ll tolerate it for now until I can get button controls.

What’s the best way to deal with this problem ?

Snip the sensor off the ribbon, or desolder the IC that contrils the sensor.

The first is permanent and irreversible. The second is reversible but requires soldering on a rather thin and easily damaged ribbon.

honestly, I'd desolder the chip for it. I have to look up which one it is first

if you do not have the tools/skills to take that little chip off, and/or you wish to never ever deal with the touch sensor ever agai for all eternity...

then you can safely cut the sensor off.

Ok thanks I’ll see how it goes

I have an older one with the straighter sensor, but it should still apply to yours.

basically, you want to make a very clean cut, just a millimeter or two away from the main body of the flexible ribbon

I’m pretty sure I managed to do that at least the screen turns on not sure about OSD coming on yet I’m just gonna test but it pretty much looks like 1 as shown on the photo with how it’s cut
